The mission of Read The Syllabus is to provide parents and guardians with the tools and knowledge to assist students from a high school diploma to a college degree by providing information and resources.

While our kids are in elementary, middle, and high school, parents are very active in attending parent-teacher conferences, reviewing mid and end-of-grading period reports, and driving the student’s success. After a student graduates from high school, parents may feel like they are finished. However, college students need the same if not more support while navigating the college process and entering adulthood.

My hope is that this information will support you and your student in achieving the successful completion in their program of study and have a meaningful college experience.

About the Founder






Toni Celestine


After finishing high school, I graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (USL) with a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing and Management.


I attained a master's degree from Louisiana State University in Human Resource Education with a concentration in Human Resources and Leadership.


I am enrolled in a doctoral degree program at Northwestern State University.


I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Lafayette Chapter with almost 28 years of service.


I serve on the Executive Board of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Alumni Association and am the Co-Chair of the Global Engagement Alumni Committee.


I previously served as the President and Vice-President of Academics for the UL Christiana Smith African American Alumni Chapter.


I am a member of the Greater Southwest Louisiana Black Chamber of Commerce.

I am currently employed in Higher Education.
